Ā Someone tells you early on to be careful who you tell. Do not let people into your business. Protect your home.

So you are careful. You say it is fine. You say we are good, thank God. And you are not lying, because most of it is fine.

But somewhere in being careful, careful who you tell turned into nobody to tell. And now there is a whole conversation living inside you with nowhere to go.

Three ways to stay

There are three ways to stay in a marriage, and from the outside they look identical.

  1. Quiet quitting. Staying, but gone.

  2. Quiet enduring. What our mothers did, because nobody ever asked them what they wanted.

  3. Quiet choosing. Staying with your eyes open

This room is for the third one. Nobody chooses quietly where there is nowhere to put the truth.

How the room works

  • Nobody can see you. No cameras, no names, no list of who is here.
  • You can ask a question without your name on it, or say nothing at all.
  • It will not be recorded.

WhoĀ it is for

It is written for wives. There are usually a few husbands in these rooms too, and if that is you, you are welcome, and nothing here is a case against you.

It is not for a marriage in crisis. I am not a counsellor. If that is where you are, please speak to your GP or to someone trained for it.
